New Same-Day Procedures Revolutionize Cosmetic Surgery

April 20, 2014 by Davis

When it comes to getting a cosmetic procedure to tighten your face, remove unwanted fat, or fix a bothersome body trait, the days of spending time in surgery and then weathering recovery time are nearing an end. These days, many cosmetic surgery procedures are not just effective, they can be done the same day with minimal recovery.

And people like that. Getting in, having a procedure done, and getting right back to your life is something many of the Dr. Steven Davis’s patients find appealing. Imagine seeing a more relaxed, more vibrant version of yourself in just minutes. It used to be science fiction. Now it’s reality.

That’s the draw of the non-invasive procedures plastic surgeons like Dr. Davis are pioneering.

One of those procedures is stem cell fan transfer. Tiny amounts of fat are liposuctioned from a specific part of the body, stem cells are separated from the fat and enriched, and then those stem cells are again integrated with the fat, which is in turn used to add fullness to a desired area of the body such as the lips or face. It sounds complex, but in truth it’s fast, effective, and minimally invasive.

And the results? They are semi-permanent, with only minimal fading over time.

In addition, patients have also been drawn to these minimally invasive procedures because they can cost a fraction of the price tag a facelift demands.

So the bottom line is clear and exciting: These days, advances in cosmetic surgery allow patients to tighten and tone their face, remove unwanted fat, or otherwise change a bothersome body trait without necessarily spending a day in surgery and more time recovering. New procedures are often fast, easy, and have patients back to leading their life the very same day.

That’s exciting news indeed.

Juvéderm® VOLUMA® is Here!

March 18, 2014 by Davis

Juvéderm VOLUMA, the exciting injectable that has proven to be a great success in Europe and Canada, is finally available America – and Dr. Davis is among the first physicians to offer this groundbreaking treatment!

While Europeans have enjoyed the incredible results offered by Juvéderm VOLUMA for several years now – it can help mold the face and give the appearance of a facelift WITHOUT surgery – here in America the procedure had to work its way through FDA approval.

Here at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, we are intimately familiar with VOLUMA because Dr. Davis was among the advisers speaking on the procedure’s behalf.

So what is Juvéderm VOLUMA? This is an injectable filler that can restore volume and fullness to your face with simple, long-lasting injections.  People have been drawn to the treatment because the results are immediate, even, and very natural looking. If you have age-related sagging or fat loss, or post-facelift sagging, the treatment can bring back youthful volume to your cheeks, cheekbones, and chin.

Few know the process better than Dr. Davis himself. He has been an expert on the treatment since it was first developed, and has served as an injector trainer for Allergan, which developed the treatment. That means cosmetic surgeons who perform this procedure learned how to do it properly directly FROM Dr. Davis.

Juvéderm VOLUMA is an extension of the Juvéderm family. Products like Juvéderm ULTRA can provide excellent results when it comes to addressing fine lines and wrinkles, but VOLUMA was specially designed to take things a step further and address the more difficult issue of facial volume and fullness. The results are immediate and natural looking, and even better, there is no recovery time. You will go right back to your job and social life.

To be among the first to enjoy what VOLUMA has to offer, call 856-424-1700 to schedule your appointment.

CoolSculpting Can Create A New You!

February 18, 2014 by Davis

Let’s face it, we all want to look our best. A summer full of beaches and swimsuits is closer than you think, and with that in mind, many of us are conscious of how we’ll look when swimsuit season arrives. We might see some room for improvement, but there is a problem: all our dieting and exercise just doesn’t seem to be making a dent in those last bits of stubborn fat! We still have muffin tops! We still have love handles!

That’s where CoolSculpting comes in.

CoolSculpting is a revolutionary new procedure that can eliminate those pesky muffin tops and love handles without surgery. You heard that right, no surgery. And Dr. Davis and the staff of Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery are proud to offer it.

CoolSculpting targets fat cells and fat cells only, working in a way that leaves surrounding cells untouched – laser treatments and surgery can’t make that claim. CoolSculpting literally cools and freezes the fat cells underneath your skin, trimming the fat while leaving your other cells intact. The procedure uses no knives or needles, and it leaves no scars. It’s completely non –invasive. Your fat cells are killed and then are naturally eliminated from your body.

It’s that easy.

Even better? CoolSculpting treatments are typically less than an hour and generally require no down time, meaning you can get back to living your life right away, even on the very same day as treatment.

CoolSculpting is FDA-approved, and the procedure is so easy many people read a book or take a nap during it. Even better is that as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle with a good diet and regular exercise – something we should all be doing, anyway – the results are permanent! The fat cells we eliminate will truly be eliminated.

If you think you might be a candidate for CoolSculpting, contact Dr. Davis today for a consultation. You can also stay up to date on the latest CoolSculpting news by following us on Facebook.

Isn’t it time you met the new you?

Tips for Healthier Hair

December 13, 2013 by Davis

Healthy Hair Facts:

  • Did you know that a healthy head consists of up to 100,000 hairs?
  • 90 percent of the hair on your head is growing if your hair is healthy.
  • It is normal for 80 to 100 hairs to come out on a daily basis.

Here are some tips to achieve healthy hair:

–        Do you brush your hair before washing it? Doing so will help prevent tangle during and after washing and will help to remove dirt.

–        If you need another excuse to pamper yourself, you should massage your scalp gently while you wash and even when it’s dry to promote circulation.

–        Only wash your hair as often as needed. If you hair only needs to be washed twice a week, that’s perfectly fine. If you feel your hair needs to be washed every day because it’s dirty, then wash away!

–        Rinse with cool water. Did you know a cool rinse will seal the cuticles in your hair?

–        Blow drying your hair takes the moisture from your hair. Moisture is vital to your hair’s health. Whenever possible, let your hair air dry after squeezing out the excess water and blotting with a towel.

–        Wet hair is much easier to damage than dry hair. That’s why you should wait until your hair dries to brush it and make sure to avoid plastic brushes that increase breakage.

–        Excess heat damages hair. This includes blow drying, sun exposure curling irons and flat irons. Whenever possible, avoid these levels of heat.

–        Deep condition your hair at least once every other month to give it a moisture boost and help repair damaged hair.

–        Did you know vinegar, especially apple vinegar, adds great shine to your locks? Time for a vinegar rinse!

–        Getting a trim is vital to your hair’s health! We recommend having your hair trimmed at least once a month to avoid split ends and help keep your hair growing.

These tips are important for all hair types. Breakages, dryness and heat damage all hair. Some of these tips might be a little hard to follow, especially if your style requires a flat iron or the thought of cold water in your shower makes you shiver. However, we recommend incorporating as many of these tips into your hair routine as possible.
