Liposuction and Body Contouring

November 25, 2020 by Davis

In our continuing series about Body Contouring and your options to kickstart your Summer Body in the colder months — let’s now discuss when Liposuction is the right treatment for you.

At Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, we typically advise a patient to consider Liposuction once diet, exercise, and the other treatment options (as previously discuss) do not achieve your desired results.

Stating facts, Liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure; it is a fat reduction procedure. Many people get this fact confused, or it is misrepresented by medical professionals. Liposuction is an outpatient surgery performed under general anesthesia where fat pockets are reduced on the patient.

Dr. Steven Davis, a board-certified plastic surgeon, performs Liposuction on candidates as part of a whole treatment plan to meet the patient’s goals. Once our patient has undergone a full recovery, which usually lasts 2-4 weeks, we advise returning to your regular fitness and nutritional routines.

We believe that fitness and aesthetic goals are made in the winter months. The colder months are the perfect time to plan time for procedures, change diet and fitness habits, schedule recovery downtime (if necessary) in order to exercise the patience needed to get that body you desire.

Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery is a part of every one of our patient’s aesthetic journey. We are available to answer any and all of your questions and get your path to a new you planned. Please contact us if you have any questions, or wish to schedule a consultation with Dr. Davis.

Next up we wrap up the Body Contouring in colder months series and review all your options for that new look.

Body Contouring with FLASH Liposuction

November 18, 2020 by Davis

Today, it’s all about Body Contouring with FLASH Liposuction. Now that we are all on the same page about creating your summer body in the winter, we understand how CoolSculpting plays into the equation — let’s discuss Body Contouring with FLASH Liposuction.

Invented by our board-certified plastic surgeon in Cherry Hill, NJ, Dr. Steven Davis, FLASH Lipo is the next option when CoolSculpting, diet, and exercise are not enough.

Body Contouring with FLASH Liposuction

FLASH stands for Fat Lipo Away Same Hour. (Did you notice that…same hour?) This in-office procedure gives you the option of targeting a pocket of fat on your body. Using fine straws, Dr. Davis vacuums the fat away.

Our FLASH Lipo procedure is perfect for anyone who needs a little more than CoolSculpting while sticking to a sensible diet and exercise program. FLASH gives you the win-win scenario of removing that stubborn pocket of fat with Lipo and experiencing minimal recovery and downtime.

Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery works hard to understand your body contouring goals and desires. This is why we make sure you know all your treatment options. From CoolSculpting to FLASH to Liposuction (for body contouring larger areas), we work hard to design a custom treatment and procedure plan that works specifically for you.

If you want to learn more about FLASH, CoolSculpting, or Liposuction, please contact our office and schedule a consultation with Dr. Davis.

Preview: Next time, let’s talk about when it is more appropriate to undergo a full Liposuction procedure. (And how you can combine treatments for maximum results.)

CoolSculpting and FLASH Lipo

November 17, 2020 by Davis

We have heard a lot about how good fitness and summer bodies are made in cold-weather months— and we can’t agree more. So, while you are busy dialing in your fitness and nutrition, why not start considering body contouring with Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery to dial in the rest.

During the colder months, especially between holidays, many of our patients find themselves with some vacation days or off time from their busy lives. This is the perfect time to book CoolSculpting sessions to remove some unnecessary stubborn fat. Or, in more extreme cases, maybe it’s an in-office FLASH Lipo appointment needed. Either way, let’s work together to get you where you need to go.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an FDA Approved fat-reduction treatment for men and women who want to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat in certain areas of their body. When you schedule your DCPS CoolSculpting consultation, Dr. Davis and his staff will discuss your body contouring goals and plan the number of sessions needed accordingly.

Many patients first go the CoolSculpting treatment route with us because of the little to no downtime required and the less invasive approach to meeting your goals.

If, during your consult or after your first CoolSculpting sessions, you feel this course of action is not best for you, we can discuss other treatment options such as FLASH. FLASH Liposuction is Dr. Steven Davis’ own Fat Lipo Away Same Hour procedure. Again, a very popular and effective way to remove stubborn pockets of fat.

At Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery it’s our job to make sure you know and understand the options a board-certified plastic surgeon have available. We want to make sure you look great and feel better all the time — not just in the summer.

If you want to begin discussing your options with the DCPS staff, please contact us and let’s get a consult scheduled for you.

Preview: Later this week we will go into more details about the benefits of FLASH Liposuction and how it may be the perfect way to kick start the new you!

Davis CPS Patient Susan Talks About Her Flawless Facelift Recovery

November 13, 2020 by Davis

Here at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, facelifts have evolved dramatically throughout the years. Once a painful process requiring a lengthy recovery stage, facelifts can now be fully healed in a matter of days.

In this week’s video, we are lucky to have one of Dr. Davis’s lovely patients, Susan, come in to discuss her facelift process. As you can see, her recovery was as flawless as can be! Join us as Susan talks about her experience with facial surgery ten years ago as opposed to now, plus more about how she feels post-op. We couldn’t be happier to hear from her!

For more on this topic, be sure to head over to our YouTube page to learn more about the possibilities of plastic surgery.

Big thank you to Susan for taking the time to discuss your flawless facelift recovery.

[Transcript]

  • Hi. I thought this was a really, really important time to talk about something. This lovely young lady right here, Susan, is my patient. Seven days ago today, she had a facelift. And she’s nice enough to come out and talk with us about this, because we just finished seeing her post-operatively. But she said so many important things that I really wanted to probe this a little bit more, so that everybody that has been thinking about any kind of surgery, especially something like a facelift, would have an experience, hopefully, like Susan had. But she had one once before. And that’s where I wanna talk about the differences, especially from the patient’s perspective, of how she felt afterwards, how it went, and even the results following that. So, Susan, thank you so much for being here.
  • You’re very welcome. You’re very welcome.
  • So talk to me. Tell me a little bit about the difference between this experience, that was seven days ago,
  • Mm-hmm.
  • And the one you had,
  • About, approximately, 10 years ago.
  • Okay.
  • Okay.
  • 10 years ago I had a facelift. And I expected to look different after the facelift. After the surgery, I was in extreme pain. I was in pain for approximately, I would say, over two weeks.
  • Yeah. Because I remember going back to work and still being careful where I put or placed my head.
  • Right, right.
  • And the results were, for me,
  • Yeah.
  • And for everybody that saw me, they asked me, “Why did you do what you did? “Because you look the same.” This time around it’s a whole different game.
  • That’s so nice.
  • I woke up, I looked around. I realized I had a beautiful headpiece. But I wasn’t in pain, I wasn’t groggy. I spent my time. My brother came and picked me up. I went home, I took no pain pills, I ate soup.
  • Yeah.
  • I’m old school and I listened to, they say “soft-soft.”
  • I told you. Right, right, right. Right.
  • Exactly, exactly. And thank God. I mean, a week later I’m ready to go.
  • I can see. The day after. That’s what was amazing.
  • Yes, that too. That too, thank God.
  • The day after surgery
  • Thank you.
  • She came dressed in a leather jacket, like she was going to hop on a motorcycle. I got very scared. I looked out the window to make sure she wasn’t on a motorcycle, with leather boots.
  • Yes, yes, yes.
  • But I do think it’s an important thing for everybody to hear that, especially when it comes to comparing things, people think that all facelifts are equal, or even getting an injectable where somebody goes, “Oh my God, I saw my girlfriend “and she had these gigantic lips and they look awful.”
  • Right, but they forgot that’s what she asked for.
  • True, that’s exactly right. Or it’s just a different person’s-
  • Slant.
  • Slant or what they wanted, and also the person that they went to have the procedure done by, may also be different.
  • Correct.
  • So I think that’s the important take home message is that, we really could, hopefully everybody gets a wonderful patient like this. You would love to have patients like this, everybody would get somebody as wonderful as this. But the bottom line is, we really do take our time to make sure that there really wasn’t a lot of bruising anywhere.
  • No, there was no bruising. There was no bruising.
  • Right. Stitches came out now, not a lot of that, and your neck looks amazing.
  • Right.
  • Your face and your jawline.
  • And beyond that, there was no pain. Recovery was quick
  • I know.
  • And easy.
  • It’s interesting.
  • And people shouldn’t be afraid. And don’t listen to your friend who had it
  • Right.
  • 10 years ago. Because hello, 10 years later,
  • Because you told me.
  • It’s a big difference.
  • We first met virtually on our first camera visit.
  • Mm-hmm.
  • And that’s one of the things that you were really concerned about was the pain, because you remembered what it was like 10 years ago.
  • Oh yeah, it was horrific.
  • Right, right.
  • It was horrific. I mean, I was eating the oxycodone and then checking, I’m like, “Shouldn’t take anymore,” to make your eyes roll in your head, so you just go to sleep so you’re not in pain.
  • Right.
  • And this time around, thank you. Thank you, Doctor.
  • I’m so happy.
  • Excellent.
  • Thank you.
  • Well, we wanted to say thank you, Susan.
  • You’re welcome.
  • But I thought it was really important to talk about facelifts and recovery.
  • Yeah.

Taking Good Care of Your Skin…Let Us Help!

November 11, 2020 by Davis

What if we told you one of the best ways to keep your skin looking youthful & healthy starts all with your skincare regimen?

Too often, we find people in our society always looking for the quick fix. Unfortunately, there is no magic pill that takes of everything at once. We can tell you that there are many solutions to improve your skin’s appearance; it just takes time and persistence.

The number one reason people avoid help with skincare issues is because it’s a long haul. Results don’t typically show until a few weeks, which can be off-putting for patients. Listen in as Dr. Davis breaks down why staying on an aggressive skin care regimen is worth all the effort.

Here at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, we’re always happy to help.

More About Body Contouring

November 10, 2020 by Davis

Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery believes that everyone has a sculpted physique waiting to be revealed. Sometimes, a good diet and exercise are not enough to reach your goals — that’s where we come in to help.

During our consultation with patients, we discuss their aesthetic goals, often hearing, “I want to lose a little in my stomach and love handles.” Or, “I can’t seem to get rid of this area, I wish my arm were more toned.” Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Davis listens to your goals and, from there, will recommend the proper body contouring procedure to meet your needs.

Often, patients come into the office with a specific procedure in mind only to find out that there is a more effective procedure for them. For example, you may insist on Liposuction, but may not realize you need some downtime, so a less invasive procedure such as CoolSculpting is the proper course of action for you.

Whatever your body contouring goals may be, it is wise to consult a doctor before beginning any treatments. We always want to make sure you know and understand all of your options before starting your journey.

In the next weeks, we will discuss various body contouring treatments and how they are typically used and what they can do for you.

If you have any questions about body contouring or any other aesthetic procedures, please contact our office, and we will be glad to help.
