3 Cosmetic Surgery Trends in 2016

January 15, 2016 by Davis

It’s always hard to predict what the New Year will bring in terms of cosmetic surgery trends, but that’s part of the fun of it! So what will we see in 2016? Dr. Davis believes, at the very least, that it will include these three:

1. More men will have cosmetic surgery
Since 1997, there’s been a whopping 273% increase in the number of cosmetic procedures men are having. Despite the historical differences between men and women when it comes to anti-aging treatments, it’s a trend that Dr. Davis expects will continue to grow — a point he demonstrates in a recent FOX29 story that asks, “Do real men get Botox?”

While some guys think cosmetic treatments are “girlie stuff,” others, like Dr. Davis’ 40-something-year-old male patient featured in the story, realize that as they get older, it takes more than a fit body and sharp wardrobe to look their best, even if it means admitting they visit Dr. Davis for Botox.

The key to good Botox results for men? It’s is delivering results that aren’t overdone, says Dr. Davis. And that means no frozen or “feminine” faces.

Is your man ready to give it a go?

2. Continued focus below the chin
If you don’t like the way your neck looks, join the club! We have the selfie phenomenon to thank for the explosive cosmetic focus below the chin… and technological innovations for non-surgical solutions! In 2015, both Kybella — an injectable fat dissolving product — and the CoolMini — CoolSculpting technology’s handpiece for under-the-chin treatment — introduced safe and effective surgical alternatives to getting rid of the double chin that plagues so many of us. We’ve only seen the beginning of this trend. Expect it to grow in 2016!

3. Better curves with non-surgical body contouring
We know it… you probably know it too. Liposuction is the gold standard for fat reduction and body contouring. But that doesn’t mean other, non-surgical options aren’t just what the doctor ordered when it comes to targeting specific trouble areas.

  • Cryolipolysis (CoolSculpting) literally freezes fat and has proven itself for years to deliver safe, effective results for love handles, thighs, the tummy and back.
  • ?Radio frequency (Body Fx) is another safe and effective solution for fat reduction with the added benefit of skin tightening.

We know the appeal of treatment results without downtime, and that’s why these treatments will trend this year.
