How Kybella™ Works
Kybella is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat. When injected in the chin area, Kybella destroys fat cells without harming other skin cells in the area.
Patients can expect to have 2 to 6 injection treatments performed, each a month apart. Some patients notice results in as little as 2 to 3 treatments.
What Happens During Kybella™ Treatment
Before your Kybella treatment, Dr. Davis will apply a numbing solution to your neck and chin. He will then place a grid on your skin that will guide each injection he makes. To perform the actual procedure, Dr. Davis will make 12 to 20 injections into the prepared area. You can expect the actual treatment to take only about 15 minutes. While mild swelling is normal, most patients report no other side effects and very little pain. Little to no downtime is required and 79% of patients report high satisfaction with results in clinical trials.
