Dr. Steven Davis who has offices in Cherry Hill, Northfield in Philadelphia says since the Allergen textured breast implant recall announcement he’s had a noticeable increase in calls the phone calls are just they want to schedule their surgery to just have them removed even before we tell them that it’s not the implants that have been recalled. They just feel like you know, I don’t know if I need to even worry about this.
We call this specifically for our again textured breast implants which have been linked to a LCL or breast implant associated large cell lymphoma. All breast implants come with an identification card. Many of the patients have that but if you don’t know you can definitely call the plastic surgeon or the office that did the surgery and find out exactly what can you have and if you don’t have the alligator textured implants, but you are experiencing symptoms and discomfort. Dr. Davis recommends getting your implants checked out especially if they’re over 15 years old either swelling or some pain. That would be a reason right off the bat to go into see your plastic surgeon.
