Ears that are overly large or that protrude from the head can cause psychological distress in both children and adults. Otoplasty, or ear surgery, is a procedure Dr. Davis performs to reduce large ears and/or to position (pin) the ears back closer to the head.
Otoplasty can be performed any age after the ears have stopped growing, usually around age 5 or 6. If you or your child feel self-conscious or experience distress about large, protruding or unusually placed ears, ear surgery may be right for you.
