Hi, Dr. Steven Davis at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. Fillers are really a wonderful thing that we use in the practice all the time. But something that’s really come up a lot recently, is that patients really have a very specific area that they think the filler can only be placed.
And I wanna make sure that we’re talking about this the way it really should be. And that is certain products, certain fillers, can be placed all over the face, and they can be placed in very specific strategic areas to give you the look that you’re looking for.
One example that I just finished doing on a patient, is explaining to them that we could take something called voluma, where most people think we’re only putting it in the cheek area, and I can actually take that voluma and that’s what we did on this patient, and we placed it right in this area, to give her jawline, a more sharp look, we can put it back in the angle of the mandible right here, so that what she was really noting that was bothering her, was that the jaw started to become more prominent than her actual jawline.
What we did very cleverly, is to take that voluma and actually use it in a way to camouflage the fact that that jaw is beginning to show.
So what we did was, we took some voluma, we put it right at this pre jaw hollow, we put a little bit of it right in the beginning of her chin and all the way back here where the mandible ends, which is the angle of the mandible and very, very cleverly, took that whole jawline and just made it look sharper, just like that and we did it on both sides.
So my point is when you’re going to see your plastic surgeon or if you’re coming here to talk about fillers, make sure that you’re really talking about what bothers you, not so much about the filler that you wanna have.
Talk about the area of your face that’s really concerning to you, because as a plastic surgeon, we can use other things to make that look that you’re going for be exactly what you want.
