– Welcome everyone, Dr Steven Davis at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery. I know a lot of you out there have probably been hearing so much about breast implants, and you really wanna know is it still safe to get them? What should we do about them? We heard so much about these textured surface implants, and that has scared a lot of patients about the whole process.
I really wanted to talk a little bit more about the need and the use of breast implants, and let you know that the textured surface of a breast implant really shouldn’t have anything to do with you wanting to do something about restoring volume to your breasts. There are so many other types of implants that do not have a textured surface to them. And one of which has been around since the early 1960s, which is a saline breast augmentation. We have saline implants nowadays that are very, very, very new, in the sense that they’re all different shaped, just like a silicone gel implant would be.
So if something about the word silicone may bother you, the saline breast implants have been around for a very long time. And there really has never been anything to show that there was a problem with anything to do with the saline implant. Let me also put some other things to rest. Which is some of these silicone gel implants that are what we would consider to be gummy bear type of implants, because if you cut them in half it would be like you were cutting in half a gummy bear candy.
Those implants also do not have to have any kind of a textured surface to them. So if it is something that you’re thinking about, and I see a lot of patients that have had multiple pregnancies, they’re in great shape, and they’re doing everything they possibly can in a gym to really stay in great shape.
But if you’ve lost some volume in the upper pole of your breast, it’s very difficult to restore that with anything besides using some sort of a breast implant. We want you to come in.
We want you here at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery to ask all the questions that you possibly can, and allow us to really show you the safety and make sure that you’re comfortable with the whole idea of what a breast augmentation or a breast implant should be like.
And we can always find the one that kind of fits you, not only for your body shape, but also will give you the projection that you want. And make it so that it’s as safe for you as possible.
Hopefully we’ll see you soon at Davis Cosmetic Plastic Surgery.
