How can I prolong the beauty and youthfulness of my face?
It’s a good question, and one that all of us who want to look good and feel good are likely to ask at some point in our lives. Thanks to modern technology, it turns out there’s a pretty simple way to slow down and even reverse the hands of time, as Dr. Davis explained earlier this month to iHeartRadio host Loraine Ballard Morrill.
Your Face in 3-D
The key to prolonging youthfulness is in understanding what happens to the face as it ages. It’s more than just lines and wrinkles that form. We age in 3-D. Deep down structurally, our facial bones can degenerate just like other bones in the body. On top of that, we naturally lose muscle and fat over time. Finally, it’s years of sun exposure we can blame for losing elasticity that we associate with youth.
Facial Fillers 101
Enter today’s facial fillers, specifically, hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. These are made in the lab to mimic the HA that is naturally found in our own bodies. HA fillers come under various names — Restylane, Juvéderm, Voluma — and are very safe and effective for restoring the facial skeleton and volume loss. We’re literally using fillers to resculpt the face to more youthful contours, not just filling creases.
Common Filler Fixes

Khloe’s Got Her Chin Up with Kybella: 5 Reasons You Should Too
It’s got the potential to revolutionize our pursuit of perfection. So much so, it’s been called the next Botox. Recently Kybella even made Khloe Kardashian the face of their new Chin Up campaign. To note, this is about fat, not wrinkles. Curious about Kybella? This blog’s for you…
Kybella (deoxycholic acid, ATX-101) is the only injectable that is FDA approved to treat unwanted fat under the chin. This innovative technology was developed in a lab to mimic a natural molecule in our bodies that helps to breakdown fat. When Dr. Davis injects this into the chin area, it kills fat cells but, rest assured, doesn’t harm other skin cells in the area.
Still reading? Great! We’ve got 5 reasons you may want to consider Kybella treatment for yourself:
- Kybella is non-surgical.
- The treatment itself only takes 15 minutes and there’s little to no downtime.
- Treatment with Kybella does not hurt; nor will you be uncomfortable after treatment.
- Side effects? Outside of mild swelling, not really.
- Kybella has a 96% Worth It rating on RealSelf!

Beyond Wrinkles: The Botox Brow Lift
Sir Isaac Newton proved it when that infamous apple fell from the tree and onto his head: Gravity is responsible for making things fall. Unfortunately, this also applies to several aspects of our face, including the brow. When the brow begins to grow heavy and the upper eyelid starts to droop, it can create all sorts of aesthetic and functional issues:
You look angry, when you’re not.
You look tired, when you’re not.
Your eyelids feel heavy and uncomfortable.
Your vision is impeded.
While a surgical brow lift may be necessary for significantly heavy brows and drooping eyelids, thankfully, there is a non-surgical solution. It’s called the Botox brow lift. Dr. Davis was recently interviewed on CBS Philly for giving Flyer’s legend Bernie Parent’s eyebrows a non-surgical lift with Botox. His complaint? Drooping eyelid skin was affecting his vision. He got enough of a lift with Botox to improve his eyesight and make him a very happy patient.
Here’s how the Botox brow lift works:
We know that Botox paralyzes muscles. There are muscles in the brow area that pull the eyebrows up (elevators) and pull the eyebrows down (depressors). These muscles can affect brow position. By strategically injecting the depressors (the ones that pull the brow down), you can create a lift of a few millimeters, which is enough to make a noticeable difference and make the eyes appear wider and hence more youthful and alert.
Is the non-surgical brow lift right for you? You’ll never know if you don’t come in… Call today to schedule your next appointment with Dr. Davis! 856.424.1700
